Gregg & Gemma - Brighton Pavilion
This was my first venture into Brighton to photograph a special day which meant some careful planning was needed. Gemma chose to get ready in the beautiful Neo Hotel, along the seafront which added some great background to the morning shots. Gregg and his family who had come over from Northern Ireland got ready along at the Thistle Hotel.
Im sure Gemma wont mind me saying that she had a lot of ideas. Ive never had so many bits of paper with me when arriving to photograph someones day, but it was lovely to have such a clear idea of what a bride and groom wanted to achieve from their day.
In terms of a beautiful ceremony venue, it doesn't get much more spectacular than the Royal Brighton Pavilion and it was a joy to shoot there, somewhere I had always wanted to work. The ceremony was beautiful, full of laughter and special moments including a chance for the guests to bless the rings, and some very nice readings from family members. Some of my favourite images from the day are those from the ceremony, as you can see so much love between this wonderful couple.
After the ceremony we had the opportunity to go out in the Pavillions famous music room, which was an opportunity I was relishing after meeting Gregg & Gemma there a couple of weeks prior to the wedding. The shots you see below of these moments are only half the story. Standing behind myself and the camera were upwards of 30 excited tourists all with their cameras out too!
The reception took place at The Latest Music Bar in Brighton, a nice little venue I have to say, especially when styled up by my good friend Vicky, from Victoria Lily Vintage. The evening was great fun. myself and Steph joined the wedding party for dinner and had lovely time chatting to Gregg & Gemmas friends and family. The evening was highlighted by a traditional Irish dance, performed by two of Greggs family and a very sweet first dance.
Id like to thank Gregg and Gemma for the opportunity to shoot their unique and beautiful wedding. Best of luck for the future, and with your new lives up in Northamptonshire!
