Naomi & John- Birling Manor
As a wedding photographer, the chance to photograph a new venue is an exciting prospect, especially one as visually stunning as Ashburnham Place. A Christian teaching centre set in acres of gardens and parkland, tucked away in rural Sussex. Not only that but my first visit to Birling Manor, which has since become one of my favourite venues.
Naomi, her bridesmaids and Mum got ready in Bexhill at a hair salon and then moved on to her family home in Sidley. There were lots of laughs and smiles from the off and the ladies had a great time getting prepared for the big day.
I arrived at the church before Naomi and her very proud Father, and took some shots with the three stunning bridesmaids. The church was really light inside which is always a bonus
And it had been decorated beautifully with different foliage. The look of the church really added to the overall beauty of the images.
After the ceremony, we utilised the large space outside for the lineup shots, and put a fun spin on a few of them, and afterward, took the time to take a walk around the grounds of Ashburnham and found some beautiful spots to take advantage of.
It was then on to Birling Manor, which at this point was another new venue for me. I had heard good things about it, and I wasn't disappointed. There is a new photo opportunity around every corner, so for Steph and I it was an absolute joy! We took lots of candid shots while everyone was enjoying canapes and drinks and then took the Bride and Groom through to the fields beyond the manor. Which brought about the first example of one of my favourite shots, coined by Steph as the "tiny people shot".
Naomi & John had gone for a vintage/country theme, which fitted in perfectly with rural and historic manor and grounds.
