Lucy & Matthew- Bannatynes Hotel
Matt and Lucy's big day at the end of August 2014, was a beautiful day with lots of photo opportunities and emotion. It was lovely to be a part of their wedding.
I arrived at their house in Hastings where Lucy was getting ready, along with her Dad and three bridesmaids. Along with two members of the dream team, i.e the team of wedding vendors I have known and love working alongside since I started. On this occasion Grace Benson's make up and flowers by Fleur De Lynn. Everybody was having a lovely time when I arrived and I made sure to get all the girls together for a quick snap holding their champagne. The whole morning had a relaxed feel to it.
Steph was having a similarly lovely time with Matt and his family, capturing some shots in the garden of different groupings and the special details of the day. Including Best Man Ian's gift of an engraved hip flask, very nice.
Lucy arrived at Bannatynes Hotel to some lovely sunshine, the perfect day to get married outdoors. An outdoor ceremony always has its own magic to it as you have the perfect lighting to capture the proceedings. There was a lot of emotion throughout and the smiles never stopped. It was a pleasure to be present there for their big day. Once Matt and Lucy had made their way back down the aisle there was time for a couple of photos of them toasting the marriage.
After the ceremony there was lots of time for guests to mingle and chat so we were there to capture that as it happened, before moving onto a few group shots, which included a classic lift photo, but I always thought its the bride they are meant to lift up?! We also took advantage of this time to go into The Montgomery Suite and take photos of the details in the reception. Like the cake, and the tables all laid out, ready for dinner.
A feature of Bannatynes I had never really explored before this day was the wooded area at the end of the gardens. Bannatynes is the wedding venue I have worked at more than any other, so it was great to still be able to find new and exciting spots for photos. We took the bride and groom off for a wander around the grounds, including this wooded area for a few snaps before dinner.
One of my fondest parts of the day were the speeches, especially that of Best Man Ian, who's emotional speech really was beautiful and had everybody in tears and fits of laughter. Speeches should always be original and heartfelt, and this truly was! The evening began with the fun of a photo booth and a visit from my pal Kris Singh, who's incredible magic always has the wedding party in disbelief, which is a joy for me as the reaction shots are priceless. Matt and Lucy went into their first dance and it capped off what was a really lovely day.
We would like to thank Matt and Lucy for letting us be a part of their day, we had a lovely time and felt so welcomed in by everybody there. Best of luck in the future to you both.
