Lorraine & Ash - Burgess Hill
For Lorraine and Ash's Wedding Day we had to venture across the county to West Sussex. More specifically Crawley and Burgess Hill, for a rustic marquee wedding with some very interesting settings.
I arrived at the home of Lorraine's maid of honour, where Lorraine would be getting ready. I have to say I loved the style that Lorraine went for, the wedding was going to be an informal marquee wedding and in Converses and a simple wedding dress, Lorraine look fantastic, plus the addition of a garland set it off perfectly and suited the day completely.
We made our way up to Crawley Registry Office, for the ceremony, Lorrraine and her brother Billy riding in style in a beautiful Rolls Royce. I have to be honest here and say that as a photographer, modern registry offices are not my favourite. They tend not to have the features of a Church or Hotel. However, this one had lots of natural light and it really did photograph well.
The ceremony was really lovely. Lots and lots of tears and laughter that you can see through the images below. Everybody had a wonderful time sharing this special occasion with the bride and groom, including Steph and myself.
Upon arrival at the reception I was struck by the excellent job that Ash and Lorraine had done with it. The rustic, country feel was apparent in every detail and the whole place looked amazing. Everybody chilled out with a few drinks courtesy or Best Bar None and listened to the extremely entertaining Top Bananas.
Now for the "Interesting Settings" I mentioned at the top of the blog. The wedding reception was located in a large field, and during my meeting with Ash and Lorraine a few weeks prior to the wedding they mentioned they would like a few photos in the scrapyard that was owned by a friend of theirs. Just a 2 minute walk from the wedding. I was really excited to take up this challenge, I love a new location to work with and this was definitely that. Im delighted with the photos from this part of their day. They are really different and came out great. I doubt il ever get to take a Bride and Groom to a scrapyard again but it was certainly a great challenge.
Into the evening, and under the golden setting sun everyone was having great fun with the bouncy castle and mingling and chatting outside. It was a very chilled out day full of emotion.
Thank to both Lorraine and Ash, we wish you a lifetime of happiness.
