Stephanie & Chris - Crowhurst Park
When a fellow photographer asks you to do some work for them its great to know that you are trusted by your peers. So when Stephanie, a fellow wedding photographer contacted me to ask me if i could photograph her day I was delighted to. Her and her husband Chris's big day was full of love and laughter and the odd superhero or two!
The wedding was to take place all in one place, at Crowhurst Park. This is lovely for Steph (my assistant) and I as it gives us the opportunity to work together in one space rather than having to go to different addresses. Stephanie and Chris were getting ready in separate holiday homes, not far from each other. Stephanie, had lots of friends and family around her during the getting ready stages and everybody was in really high spirits. I took some time to wander off with the flowers and shoes to find some photo opportunities whilst the girls were having their hair and makeup done.
My assistant Steph meanwhile was in her element. A geek at heart and a big fan of superheroes, she was loving the buttonholes that Chris and his Groomsmen had to wear. They each had their own Lego Superhero. With Chris being Batman.
Once Stephanie was dressed and ready to go it was just a short walk to the ceremony room in the main house. The room is compact but it does make the ceremony feel very intimate and that everybody is a part of it. The ceremony was very sweet and It was lovely to be there to witness it. Once the register had been signed it was off outside for welcome drinks . . . and selfies of course!
The couple had put so much of the decorations together themselves, which I always think is a nice touch and makes it doubly important to capture it all as so much effort has been put in.
With everybody enjoying this summers day, we sloped off with Stephanie and Chris for some couple shots. Our job was to make them feel comfortable, I hate having my photo taken so I can relate completely when a couple tells me they feel uncomfortable in front of a camera. We approach every wedding with a no pressure attitude and never push people past there comfort zone. I know that Stephanie and Chris were delighted with these images in the end.
The evening came along with a sweet tooth. Sweet buffet and popcorn machines always do the trick and Steph and myself always take advantage of some free sugary treats! The first dance was a lovely way to end our evolvement in the days celebrations.
We had a great time with this very sweet couple. All the best for the future!
